Have you ever had an idea for an app or website that would be the next big thing? Are you stuck with the dilemma of wanting to earn money online but not sure how to do it? Maybe you’re looking to increase your side hustle income and turn it into a full-time job? To help you make the best choices when it comes to earning money online, we’ve put together this list of ways to earn money online that are actually worth your time and effort.
1 - Clicking on Banner Ads
The first way that’s been around for a while, but doesn’t get a lot of people seeing it as an earning opportunity. Most of us click on banner ads daily and don’t think anything of it; why not get paid for it? There are quite a few sites that will pay you small amounts of money to just click on ads in your free time.
2 - Sorting Through Emails and Surveys
Email and online surveys are going to be your bread and butter in terms of making money online. There is a lot of bad email out there, but if you can sort through it, there’s some good money to be made just from spending a few minutes here and there sorting through emails. You won’t make much money from actual surveys (usually between .50 – $1 per 10-20 minutes) but it’s easy money!
3 - Scoring Rewards with Credit Cards
One of my favorite ways to earn extra money online is with credit card rewards. Cash back and other rewards are offered by a number of major credit cards, and those perks can translate into real cash if you know how to take advantage of them. I use American Express for most of my purchases - which gives me 6% cash back on gas, 3% at grocery stores and 1% everywhere else. That adds up! It’s no secret that gas prices are high these days, but what about groceries?
4 - Getting Paid for Taking Pictures
Photography is an extremely popular online side hustle that can be done from anywhere. If you have a camera and love taking pictures, start a photography business and offer your services as a photographer. If you're into animals, take photos of your furry friends and sell them on websites like Etsy or Auctiva. Other great ways to make money by taking photos include selling them on stock photo websites like Shutterstock or iStockPhoto or through sites like ShutterHappy (you'll receive royalties every time someone purchases one of your images).
5 - Creating Custom Stores
There are many people who want to start an online store and make money from it. Most of them think that creating a website is enough. As a matter of fact, you can use any e-commerce site like eBay, Amazon or Etsy etc and make some profit out of it, but why doing someone else's job when you can do your own job? So if you want to create your own online store then try custom stores.
6 - Filling Out Paid Surveys
There are plenty of survey sites out there, but some pay more than others. Pinecone Research is one of my favorites because they always pay their members—and they also reward you for referring friends. They offer $3 payments for surveys that take between 5 and 15 minutes, and if you refer a friend who takes a survey, you can earn another $3 as well! The way Pinecone works is by emailing you surveys on a regular basis.
7 - Writing for a Niche Site (Making $10k per Month)
Earning online is an awesome way to make passive income. You can sign up for Google AdSense or other ad networks, write on your own website and then build links back to your site. This is a great way for new bloggers, who don't want their sites polluted with advertising, to start making money online. You won't get rich doing it but you will earn some extra cash each month.
8 - Gaming the System (Making $40k per Month)
Freelance writing is a good way to make money online, but it’s certainly not as lucrative as other forms of employment. However, if you have a unique talent or hobby (or know how to write code), it can be an interesting way to earn some side income. If you’re interested in putting your skills towards making money online, check out sites like Fiverr, Upwork, Toptal and Problogger Job Board where you can connect with potential clients looking for professional freelancers.
